Benary’s Giant Zinnias

Filed under: Uncategorized — fehlhaber @ 10:43 am

Here are this year’s zinnias.  I tried another type of seed this year, Johnny’s Giant series.  It’s the creamy yellow one.  Many of its flowers are singles and seem to go to seed faster, so I’ll stick with the Benary’s Giant series in the future.  All seeds came from

Top row, left to right: Benary’s Giant White & Benary’s Salmon Rose;  Benary’s Golden Yellow & Johnny’s Giant Series Creamy Yellow; Benary’s Carmine Rose

Bottom row: Benary’s Giant Purple;  Benary’s Orange;  Benary’s Giant Scarlet & Benary’s Giant Wine

  1. Can this grow in shallow soil? Does it get fungus easily? Does it need staking?

    • You probably need 6 inches of soil. I dont’ get a lot of fungus — at least not this year. And no staking needed. Good luck!
