In Memory of Rev. Mary J. Harrington

Our beloved minister, Mary Harrington, died last Tuesday of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).  She was remembered last night at a gathering in Marblehead.  As one person said, “She taught us all to be ministers to each other” and I think she would have been proud to see us coming together.

Here are a few pictures of her — all with Leo, who was born while I worked for Mary.  As I said last night, Mary LOVED babies and wasn’t shy about asking to hold them.  I think it was her way of experiencing the joy of life (there was a benediction she wrote that was read last night that explains this — if I find it, I’ll put it in).

Mary reading to Leo from “Frog and Toad Together”.  I think they were reading, “The Garden”  or “Cookies”.
